Strathmore is a senior rugby club formed in 1933 and is based in Forfar, Angus, Scotland The club has been in the Midlands Divisions up till the SRU re-structuring of the system and now sits in Caledonia Division 5 (A) Strathmore has grown in population over the last 10 years with thanks going to a popular junior section and a thriving Angus County Colt feeder system: The clubs vision is to become the premier side in Angus and hope to gain promotion in the season 2005/06 to National division 4. The club have had a rollercoaster last few years and boast of some famous and exciting prospects: Notably their advancements of 2 players to DHSFP and one of the Womans team Suzie Newton, who played for Scotland Womans on the 13th March V Wales and Scored her debut try: Players like Mike Bruce, who still "dabbles" at a high standard, at scrum half, making the full Caledonia senior team,with the likes of Rob Weignright and Tom Smith before its disbandment in Perth, John Westwood at no8 and Jason Leslie 6 have Classics caps playing against England at Inchmacoble park forfar, in a full classics side: The club have advanced and are on the brink of a new and exciting prospect for their future as the new clubhouse becomes reality for the 1st time in 20 years of trying (Watch this space for details)
